Beer Fest Donation!

We were told today that the Beer Fest at The Tap in The Shed, Bordon on the weekend of 14/15th June raised £1600 from donations by sponsors, which was passed to the Bordon Men’s Shed by prior arrangement with Ed Spice, The Tap manager. We would like to sincerely thank all the sponsors for their generous donation, and the public who came along and drank the beer!

The money will go towards the building of the new Men’s Shed behind the Phoenix Theatre when the time comes. We hope we will be able to open soon. We hope we will be able to open soon. This is a picture of our chairman displaying some of our projects.

Woolmer Forest Timebank

Thanks to Woolmer Forest Timebank, I was invited to speak to their meeting on 5th June, which was held in Cafe 1759. I was glad to attend and give the members an outline of what Men’s Sheds are and the progress (or lack of!) progress on the Bordon Men’s Shed. The assembled members were very supportive and asked some interesting questions, most of which I knew the answer to, luckily.

Hopefully some more members can go along to one of the many Timebank meetings and events in the future.

The Tap Beer Fest

On Friday 14th June to Sunday 16th June The Tap at The Shed will be hosting a beer fest. The timings are:

Friday 14th June, 5.00pm to 10.00pm

Saturday 15th June 4.00pm to 10.30PM

Sunday 16th June, all day.

The Bordon Men’s Shed will be at the Beer Fest to promote what we do and give updates on our reopening. Please come and talk to us about the Men’s Shed and see what we can offer when we open.

Thanks to The Tap and Ed Spice for allowing us to set up a stall.

The Exciting News!

The Phoenix Theatre in Station Road, Bordon has offered space behind the theatre for us to set up a Men’s Shed in a space currently occupied by two storage containers which they are going to move. This gives us an opportunity to set up a workshop that will help with the theatre and other projects around the town. Watch this space for developments.

Further sites made available

Yesterday 3rd April, the Men’s Shed visited the Northern Gateway comprising of the ECO Station (former Fire Station), the Exhibition House, The Stables behind the ECO station and the former LLoyds Bank. We were accompanied by Jo Utting from EHDC and given options on any of these sites, as well as working with the Phoenix Theatre on their offer of land on which to place our workshop.

We’re now spoiled for choice, and we have to apply for an expression of interest, which will be done.
